A newborn boy was born to Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru and veteran artist Innocent Idibia, well known by his stage as 2Face or 2Baba.
Osawaru was allegedly spotted at a hospital early on Friday, which fueled rumors that she had gone into labor and increased speculation about the delivery.
The politician put a stop to the rumors a few hours later by stating that the couple had been “blessed with a baby boy” in a brief statement posted on her official Facebook page.
Fans, followers, and well-wishers reportedly sent her a barrage of congratulations as soon as she posted.
The couple’s much-followed relationship enters a new phase with the baby’s arrival. Following the singer’s split with Annie Idibia in January, 2Baba and Osawaru formally announced their union earlier in the year.
From the Valentine’s Day proposal to the family visits and customary ceremonies that followed in the months that followed, their love swiftly attracted national notice.
Only close family members attended the couple’s secret, traditional wedding in Abuja in July. Despite being low-key, the event set the foundation for their new life together and has continued to get public attention.
It was known that the musician and Annie Idibia, his ex-partner, were parents.
