President Bola Tinubu met with Yusuf Gagdi, a G-7 member, on Friday to discuss a group of candidates who were upset about the APC’s endorsement of Tajudeen Abbas and Benjamin Kalu for Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.

Gagdi claimed that it was his third meeting with Tinubu in as many days as part of the President’s interventions in the crisis brought on by the APC’s leadership zoning plan for the 10th National Assembly.

Gagdi revealed the information via his official Twitter account. He is the representative for the Pankshin/Kanye/Kanam Federal Constituency in Plateau State in the House.

The lawmaker promised to make an announcement as soon as the “deep discussions and consultations” were finished.

“I visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu three (3) times at the Presidential Villa on one-on-one meetings that all together lasted for more than one hour,” tweeted Gagdi. “Within the last 72 hours. The conversations centre on the leadership issue facing the 10th Assembly as well as my goal of becoming Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.

“I appreciate the honour and special display of love given to me and the deserving citizens of the Pankshin/Kanake/Kanam Federal Constituency by Mr. President.

“I urge my supporters, especially my honourable colleagues, to maintain their composure as I am currently engaged in serious discussions and consultations with some national leaders.

“An official statement will be released in this regard after all considerations. Thank you, Mr. President and my father.
