EPL: Arsenal Held to Draw at Everton, Fails to Close Gap on Liverpool
After being held to a 1-1 draw at Everton in Saturday’s early kickoff, Arsenal lost ground in the Premier League title battle once more.
After returning from an international break, the Gunners defeated Fulham 2-1.
When Mikel Arteta’s team traveled to Merseyside, they wanted to stay up with Liverpool.
And after Leandro Trossard completed a ball from Raheem Sterling, they took the lead in the first half.
However, Myles Lewis-Skelly’s foul on Jack Harrison was penalized by the referee, and the Toffees equalized early in the second half.
Everton leveled the score as Iliman Ndiaye stepped up and sent David Raya the wrong way.
With seven games remaining, Arsenal now has 62 points, 11 fewer than Liverpool, who will play Fulham away on Sunday.
