Cristiano Ronaldo May Finish Trophyless This Season, Messi Knocked Out Of Champions Cup
Al Nassr’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has mourned the team’s elimination from the AFC Champions League following a thrilling semi-final match.
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to face another trophyless season in Saudi Arabia after Al Nassr suffered a close 3-2 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale, eliminating their ambitions of winning the prestigious title.
This latest setback adds to a difficult season for Al Nassr, who were eliminated from the King’s Cup in October of last year.
They are now eight points behind Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Ittihad, with only five games remaining in the regular season.
In an emotional letter posted on social networking site X, the 40-year-old superstar thanked the club’s loyal fans for their unflinching support throughout the season.
He also praised his teammates for their tireless efforts on the pitch during the semi-finals, highlighting the team’s collaborative spirit.

Ronaldo wrote: “Sometimes, the dream must wait. I’m extremely proud of this team and everything we did on the pitch. Thank you to everyone who believed in us and supported us every step of the way. Your support means everything.”
Inter Miami, led by Lionel Messi, had a same fate when they were eliminated from the Concacaf Champions Cup semi-finals by the Vancouver Whitecaps 5-1 on aggregate.
This was a dismal result for Lionel Messi and his squad in the continental club competition.
