2027: Only God will choose my successor – Governor Sule
According to Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, God alone will decide who would follow him in 2027, not his political clout or personal preferences.
Governor Sule stated that at least 20 people have already expressed interest in running for governor during a lavish reception in Lafia on Sunday honoring the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Labaran Magaji.
“I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that there are currently around 20 candidates running for the Nasarawa State governorship,” Sule said.
He saw that with so many candidates, the future would probably be characterized by cooperation, political alliances, and forgiving one another.

Since only one person would ultimately receive it, he stated that “if we truly want to move forward, there is going to be a lot of alliances, a lot of forgiveness, and a lot of teamwork.”
The governor emphasized that he will not impose a successor when speaking to party members and stakeholders at the occasion, pointing out that the selection of the future leader is a divine choice.
He declared, “God Almighty, not A.A. Sule, will choose our next governor.”
Additionally, Governor Sule took the opportunity to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he called the President’s unwavering support for Nasarawa State.
