In honor of the Super Falcons’ win at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, six Super Eagles players have given a total of ₦24 million to the team.
According to reports, Nigeria’s triumph in Morocco gave the Super Falcons a record-tying tenth WAFCON championship.
“Captain William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, and Joe Ayodele-Aribo contributed the amount to all 24 members of the Super Falcons to celebrate them winning the 10th WAFCON title,” the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said in a statement released on Monday.
Confirming the gift, the NFF said it was a sign of support and gratitude for the Falcons’ accomplishment.
The gift is in addition to a number of additional incentives that have already been revealed for the players after they defeated Morocco 3-2 in the final on Saturday in Rabat.

President Bola Tinubu gave each participant a three-bedroom condominium in the Renewed Hope Estate, a $100,000 cash present, and the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) during a reception in Abuja.
The 11 members of the technical and administrative staff as well as each player received ₦10 million from the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
The Super Falcons’ acknowledgment will serve as an inspiration to young females throughout Nigeria, according to NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, who called the numerous gestures “unprecedented and transformative.”
“Mr. President has accomplished something that no other leader had done before him. This will act as a catalyst to encourage our nation’s girls to pursue excellence through respectable means,” Gusau stated.
“The girl child will now realize that they can succeed in sports and any other honorable career or vocation as a result of this announcement.”
