The claims that Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State, is hanging around with bandits have been denied.
In an interview with Prime Time, an Arise Television program, on Thursday, Sani refuted claims that he assisted bandits, stating that his government has constructed homes for state bandit victims instead.
As governor, Sani recalled that he was accused by his detractors of attempting to pay bandits to address the state’s insecurity problem.
“I informed them that a man who championed justice and the liberation of the oppressed cannot sit down with bandits,” he mentioned.
Instead of paying robbers, the governor added, he started a program two weeks ago to build homes for insurgency victims.
“I have constructed homes for the victims of banditry in Kaduna, but I have not transferred a single naira to the bandits,” he continued.

“For such initiatives to be successful, they need to be driven by the community,” Sani said.
“That cannot be supported by you as a governor; it needs to be a community-based project. It must be theirs,” he remarked.
Sani claimed that because of his administration’s comprehensive policy, which he claims incorporates all communities, there haven’t been any farmer-herder disputes in the state recently.
We haven’t experienced any farmer-herder conflicts in Kaduna today. This is resolved by being inclusive. All of them must be included. It was unnecessary for President Tinubu to travel to the north to give you advice on how to manage your state, he remarked.
