The armed bandits who kidnapped Alhaji Babangida Kogo, the paramount ruler of Yankuzo in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area, on Tuesday have released him.

The gang members of Ado Allero suspected that the king had assisted the military after he was kidnapped after an airstrike killed hundreds of suspected bandits.

He was taken along the Mararraba axis while escaping his neighborhood after a fatal Nigerian Air Force (NAF) bombardment, but he was freed late Tuesday night by the gang of famed bandits’ kingpin, Ado Allero.

The king and his family were reunited on Thursday when he returned to his castle in Yankuzo.

Earlier that day, a precision strike that killed numerous terrorists at a forest enclave between Yankuzo and Munhaye was purportedly carried out by the bandits, who accused the monarch of giving the military intelligence. Numerous people were hurt, and over 30 people were officially declared deceased.

He was apparently released after being held captive for a few hours, though, after Ado Allero and his warriors determined he was not involved in the military action.

“A ransom was not bought. “After questioning him, they discovered that he was not involved in the attack,” a security source revealed.
