The Special Forces Training School of the Nigerian Army has been relocated to Doma Local Government Area in Nasarawa State from Buni Yadi in Yobe State.
According to reports, the relocation was announced by Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at the 4 Special Forces Command, Doma, at the groundbreaking ceremony and inauguration of new projects.
According to Oluyede, the change was made to give the elite unit a better environment in which to train for challenging security situations.
In order to give our special forces the best possible training environment and to give them the skills and competencies necessary for the unique nature of their operations, the school has decided to move, he said.
He was hopeful that the new site will soon serve as a “beacon of excellence and professionalism” for the Nigerian Army, motivating upcoming generations of high-level combatants.
According to the COAS, his administration is still dedicated to providing the best training possible for special forces so they can compete effectively with their counterparts throughout the world.
It is hoped that the instruction given here will equip our soldiers to handle the dynamic and ever-changing security threats of today. In addition to laying the framework for new buildings, my visit aims to establish a legacy of quality, bravery, and selflessness,” Oluyede stated.

He emphasized that funding the school is an investment in Nigeria’s safety and development.
Speaking to the staff, Oluyede praised them as “indomitable warriors” and advocated professionalism, devotion, and dedication.
“Remember that nothing should stand in your way of success because you are the unbeatable. Nothing should stop you from carrying out your responsibilities, nothing should weaken your resolve to fight, and you should only relax after the task is finished,” he stated.
Along with expressing gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for their assistance in the fight against insecurity, the COAS also promised to consistently put the welfare of employees and their families first in order to promote peak performance.
Maj.-Gen. Hilary Nzan, Commander of the 4 Special Forces, praised the COAS in his speech for his vision in inspiring soldiers and improving operational capability.
“It will improve training, raise morale, and create an enabling environment for optimal performance,” he said of the opening of the training school in Doma.
“As the school’s direct beneficiaries, we have assumed responsibility and will use it responsibly and assiduously to achieve the desired results,” Nzan continued.
