Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has disclosed the reasons for her decision to have body enhancement surgery, stating that she struggled with her body image following motherhood.

The mother of three revealed in an interview with Saturday Beats that although she had always been naturally curvaceous, having kids made her figure unconfident.

After giving birth to her third child, she acknowledged that she was dissatisfied with the way she looked and made the decision to have cosmetic surgery done for her own mental and emotional health.

“My form was not hourglass. It didn’t get any better for me when I started having babies. When I looked at myself after having my third child, I didn’t like what I saw. I believed that I owed it to myself to be content and self-assured.

“The operation was for me, for my mental health to feel well, okay, and sufficient, and no one else. Ogbodo clarified, “I am enough competition for myself.”

Since honesty is important to her, the actress disclosed that she decided to be transparent about her metamorphosis. She also mentioned that public personalities shouldn’t deceive their admirers.

“People in this country are frequently dishonest, especially celebrities. Despite being a role model, you deceive people who truly care about you. Without acknowledging that they altered themselves, many people have operations, vanish, and then reappearance with new bodies. “Why conceal it when your story can motivate other women?” she said.

Ogbodo went on to say that she uses her experiences to inspire optimism and that being candid is a part of her mission to support women who battle with self-esteem.

She also disclosed that her spouse fully supported the operation since he recognized the difficulties she was having with her body image and the desire to regain her confidence.
