Tiwa Savage, an Afrobeats artist, has advised her peers to maintain their composure, emphasizing that they are merely representatives of the movement.
The “Malo” hitmaker advised Afrobeats musicians to avoid becoming intoxicated by fame and wealth, pointing out that God can take their place.
Falling from grace is more disastrous than becoming an underground artist, she cautioned.
“We are just ambassadors, we are just like the faces of Afrobeats,” Savage stated in a recent interview with Hot 97 FM New York. Because we are merely vessels and someone else may be present, we must not allow it to enter our minds.
That’s how God can take it away. You must therefore be grounded. You must have humility. Imagine falling after traveling this far. It’s worse than never experiencing the taste of fame. Never seeing in my life is preferable to seeing and going blind. I think that’s worse.

The singer also mentioned how much she admires a few of her coworkers.
“I have an almost obsessive affection for Ayra Starr. She reminds me of myself, but she exudes confidence. When I was just starting out, I might wear pants the next time I saw an article saying that my skirt was too short. However, the next time, Ayra would wear a shorter skirt. Her confidence is admirable.
