In an effort to fortify its grassroots organization and be ready for upcoming elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has chosen new leaders for each of its 21 local government districts.

The executives came up with a plan that all parties involved agreed upon in order to reduce conflict and promote unity inside the company.
Hon. David Iorhembe (retd.), the chairman of the Adamawa PDP Local Governments Congress Committee, expressed his admiration for the peaceful conduct of the exercise while observing it in Yola South, Yola North, and Gerei LGAs on Monday.
“The high attendance and the maturity displayed by our members today have pleased me. Iorhembe claimed that the consensus option had been extremely helpful in bringing the party together and preventing needless conflict.
Iorhembe praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, calling him a visionary leader whose accomplishments have increased the PDP’s support in the state.
He emphasized that the governor’s record of accomplishments was still the PDP’s most effective campaign weapon and asked party members to keep supporting him.
The chairman of the committee was certain that the party’s newfound unity would ensure victory in the upcoming general election.
“With the unity we have demonstrated here today, I am confident we will deliver,” he continued, adding that the PDP is still the party to beat in 2027.
In the meantime, the chairman and members of the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) have been criticized by the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for their handling of the Local Government election.
Chris Osa Nehikhare, the party’s publicity secretary, made a statement accusing the EDSIEC of conspiring with Edo State’s attorney general.
Nehikare was incensed that the poll was held in contravention of the National Industrial Court’s and the Edo State High Court’s existing directives.
He continued by disclosing that the party has directed its legal team to file a contempt case against the Edo State Attorney General, the Chairman of EDSIEC, and its members.
