Temilade Openiyi, a Nigerian singer better known by her stage name Tems, is the first African woman to sell over 10 million copies of a record in the United States.

According to chart monitoring website Chart Data, her joint single “Wait For U,” which she co-wrote with Future and Drake, recently reached the 10-million-unit sales milestone in the US.

Now, the song can be certified a US RIAA Diamond.

After Wizkid, who accomplished this accomplishment with his collaboration with Drake on “One Dance,” Tems is the second African musician to do so.

With many Platinum, Platinum, and Gold certifications for her other singles, including “Essence,” “Free Mind,” “Higher,” “Me & U,” and “Found,” the “Love Me Jeje” crooner is currently the best-selling female African artist in the United States.
