Adekunle Gold Honoured With Street Named After Him In Lagos
Adekunle Gold, a Nigerian musician, has been honored with a street in Lagos bearing his name.
The 38-year-old singer posted a video of the unveiling ceremony to Instagram to share the touching moment with her fans.
Adekunle Gold, his wife Simi, and their daughter Deja were shown in the video pulling back a veil to expose the new signpost that read “Adekunle Kosoko Street,” which is his full name.
The “Sade” crooner wrote in appreciation of the recognition:
“Kosoko Street Adekunle. My name is now associated with the city where I grew up. I’m grateful for all of my blessings, Lord.
Adekunle Gold, a member of the Kosoko royal dynasty of Lagos Island, has a strong historical connection to the honor.
Oba Kosoko, the former king of Lagos who ruled from 1845 to 1851, is the ancestor of this individual.
