‘It Was a Mental Battle’ – Asherkine Opens Up on Health Struggles Caused by Binge-Eating Videos
Akinyemi Oluwaseun Omotayo, better known by his stage name Asherkine, is a Nigerian media personality who has revealed why he quit producing content on binge eating.
Asherkine admitted that he became gluttonous after reading the contents.
He revealed in a post on 𝕏 that he had lost the sense of moderation and would only stop eating when he began to experience stomach pain.
The content producer, who is well-known for his unceasing charitable deeds for underprivileged Nigerians, bemoaned the fact that he started to suffer from heart palpitations, excessive weight gain, unpredictable sleep patterns, a covertly elevated blood pressure, and persistent exhaustion.
He added, “Until my body told me, I never really understood why I paused creating this kind of food content; I genuinely enjoyed clearing up over five different meals on a regular basis.” even though I made an effort to maintain my fitness and led an active lifestyle at the time.
“Even when I wasn’t producing content, mindless binge eating became the OOTD, and I lost the idea of moderation.” I continued to eat till I began to get stomach pain. Even when I was completely full, I kept wanting to eat! Gluttony has arrived. The mental struggle to overcome gluttony is likely the most difficult thing to cope with, aside from the overall discomfort, heart palpitations, excessive weight gain, erratic sleep, covertly elevated blood pressure, persistent exhaustion, and so forth.
In addition to stressing the need of moderation, Asherkine called on people to be mindful of eating disorders and their negative health impacts.
“Gluttony is so disrespectful and powerful that words cannot describe how underappreciated it is.” Two years later, I’m still talking to my stomach. Let us know if you suffer from compulsive eating disorder. Be careful—I’m not a medical professional, but don’t minimize it. “I will continue to produce food content, but not in such large quantities,” he stated.
