Nollywood Actor Williams Uchemba Calls for Public Execution of Kidnappers
Williams Uchemba, a Nollywood actor, has advocated for the public execution of Nigerian kidnappers who have been found guilty.
Many have voiced dread as Yuletide approaches, and the thespian reportedly made the statement in response to kidnappings occurring throughout the nation.
Williams made the case in a video posted on his Instagram page on Friday that the crime rate will keep rising if people do not experience the repercussions of crimes like kidnapping.
The movie actor also mentioned China, claiming that corruption and kidnapping are punishable by death there.
According to him, “When a child starts stealing meat from the mother’s pot and the mother catches them, she does very little to punish them or show them the consequences of this. Instead, she is breeding a hardened criminal who will eventually grow up and even ruin her own life or become a national disgrace to the family.”
“This nation is governed by a constitution, and I fail to see why we are not more vociferous when it comes time to implement it.
The death penalty is the punishment for abduction. A few of these abductors are apprehended. Whether they are being executed or put in jail, we don’t hear anything. In my opinion, there ought to be a channel specifically devoted to apprehending those who engage in such behavior and bringing them to justice, similar to BBNaija, since we won’t be able to observe the outcomes until we begin enforcing the repercussions of our acts.
Though we lack China’s balls, we nevertheless aspire to be like them. In China, corruption and kidnapping are punishable by death.
