John Mikel Obi, a former captain of the Super Eagles, has predicted that Arsenal will win the Premier League this year because Mikel Arteta’s team now has the best team in Europe and the will to succeed.
With a four-point lead at the top of the table, the Gunners have set the pace early in the season. Their nearest rivals, Manchester City and Liverpool, are behind by six and seven points, respectively.
After seeing Arsenal’s recent performances, Mikel, who had previously doubted their capacity to withstand pressure in the title chase, acknowledged that his opinion had changed.
“Martinelli is winning those games after coming off the bench. Eze is leaving the bench. The former Chelsea midfielder stated on his podcast, “They are winning games.”
“Merino is hurt too. Havertz is hurt. No Gabriel Jesus, no Odegaard. It is terrifying. Yes, the current Arsenal team. Mikel Arteta is aware of this. He is aware of that. He is aware that Arsenal must lose this title.
Alan Shearer, a veteran of Newcastle United, also thinks the North London team has a significant edge in the race for the championship.
In an interview with The Rest is Football podcast, Shearer emphasized that Arsenal’s two main advantages over Manchester City and Liverpool are their strong defense and their set-piece danger.
“The defense and the set-pieces are the huge advantage Arsenal has over Liverpool, Man City, and anybody else they think they can challenge,” Shearer stated.
Because they can simply win a game even when they are not playing well, they are in control. They have a huge advantage at the top of the Premier League right now because of their set-pieces and strong defense.
