Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, an Islamic cleric, has charged that the United States of America is involved in the insurgency in Nigeria.
Sheikh Gumi also said that in order to destabilize Nigeria, the US has been covertly arming Boko Haram.
In response to inquiries on Tuesday’s Frank Talk, a live current events program on Rave 91.7FM in Osogbo, Gumi stated that the purported foreign meddling was a component of a larger scheme to coerce Nigeria into housing an American military installation.
According to Gumi, Western nations—especially the US—continue to covertly contribute to Nigeria’s insecurity.

He supported his assertion with a quote from General Christopher Musa, a former Chief of Defense Staff.

Gumi urged the federal government to continue fighting banditry, particularly in the North-West, and recommended that it identify foreign actors responsible for Nigeria’s instability.

Gumi said that there was no innate hostility between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria and accused former US President Donald Trump of being Islamophobic in response to his recent comments about aiding Christians in Nigeria.
