Prof. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, a former minister of petroleum, former Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), former Executive Vice Chairman of Exxonmobil Africa, and former president of OPEC and APPO, has been named to the Delborough Lagos Board.
Prof. Kachikwu, a native of Delta State, is a first-class law graduate from both the Nigerian Law School and the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), where he won numerous prizes and was the top graduate. Additionally, Harvard Law School in the United States awarded him a master’s and doctoral degree in law with honors.
Prof. Kachikwu has a plethora of experience. He was the General Counsel of Texaco Upstream and Downstream in Nigeria, the former President of OPEC and APPO, the former Executive Vice Chairman of Exxonmobil Africa, the former Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and he is currently a visiting professor at ten international universities, including Harvard, and a consultant to several African governments.
The Board Chairman, His Royal Majesty Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe CFR, mni the Obi of Onitsha, officially welcomed the Harvard-trained think tank onto the Board during the most recent annual board meeting at The Delborough Lagos.
A well-known Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Barr. Kelechi Nwaiwu, was also appointed and sworn in as Board Secretary.
The Obi of Onitsha Igwe Achebe said, “The Delborough Lagos is the only corporate body with a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) as Board Secretary,” as he greeted the new members.
