Arsenal Eye €80m Eintracht Frankfurt Star Ahead of Potential Signing
Jean-Mattław Bahoya of Eintracht Frankfurt is a transfer target for Arsenal.
Sport1 reports on the forward’s circumstances with the German team as well as Arsenal’s interest.
In January 2024, the 20-year-old was signed by Eintracht Frankfurt from Angers SCO. Despite not receiving consistent minutes, he continues to receive offers.
There was reportedly a €70 million deal last summer, although it is unclear who made the offer.
The youthful player assisted against Hoffenheim after scoring twice in the season’s first game against Werder Bremen. In the August DFB-Pokal, Bahoya also scored against FV Engers 07.
The attacker hasn’t played all 90 minutes this season and hasn’t scored or assisted since August. He is dissatisfied with his position under Dino Toppmöller.
Bahoya’s “dissatisfaction with his role in the team is gradually growing.” Arsenal is still interested in him despite his circumstances with the Bundesliga team.
According to Sport1, the Gunners would have to pay a lot of money to sign the attacking talent.
The contract for the France U21 international expires in 2029. Markus Krösche, the sporting director of Eintracht Frankfurt, reportedly set a price of at least €80 million. His contract puts them in a great position for any future negotiations, and they are not under any pressure to sell.
Throughout his career, Bahoya has scored 19 goals and provided 10 assists in 103 games. Demanding €80 million would be wishful thinking in light of this and his current position. There will undoubtedly be a discount because Arsenal is unlikely to match Eintracht Frankfurt’s asking price.
“The fact is that Bahoya still feels very comfortable in Frankfurt, but a departure in the near future seems 100% out of the question,” according to Sport1.
If Arsenal chooses to push for his signing, this could help them lower the price.
