On Monday, November 24, 2025, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, the governor of Ekiti State, will formally return to office after a two-week leave of absence.
After taking a two-week leave of absence on November 9th, Governor Oyebanji ended it on November 19th, returned to Ekiti, and met with a few heads of the state’s security agencies on November 20th to discuss the state’s security situation in light of security incidents in a few nearby states.
The two-week leave is a component of the governor’s constitutional annual leave, according to a statement from Olayinka Oyebode, Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor.
Governor Oyebanji was taking a leave of absence for the first time since taking office on October 16, 2022.
While welcoming the President and other Guild executives to Ekiti State for their Standing Committee Meeting, which will take place at Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort, Ikogosi-Ekiti, between November 23 and 24, 2025, Governor Oyebanji congratulated members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) on the success of their 21st annual conference, which was recently held in Abuja.
