In order to ensure that the people of Oyo State are prepared for a new leadership direction prior to the 2027 governorship election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leaders have requested that Governor Seyi Makinde start compiling his handover memo.
According to reports, the accusation was made during a news conference at the APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where Comrade John Aremu, the State APC Youth Leader, stated that young party members were already organizing to overthrow the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Aremu stated that the incumbent administration’s ineffectiveness and bad governance were impeding Oyo’s advancement.
He said, “The people of Oyo State are tired of being held in bondage by the current government.” The young of the APC are prepared to bring about the political transformation the state so desperately needs.
The APC youth wing is getting ready to take over the state’s leadership, he claimed, so the ruling party should prepare for its departure.
The youth leader emphasized that the next stage of Oyo’s growth would be led by young people, with up-and-coming leaders in a position to provide a more forward-thinking path.
“The ruling party should prepare for its eventual exit,” Aremu said. Young leaders that are progressive are prepared to take on responsibility.
Speaking about the dynamics within the party, Aremu stated that the reunion between previous governorial candidate Senator Teslim Folarin and Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu was a significant strengthening of the party’s unity.
He pointed out that a stronger, more unified face ahead of the upcoming election cycle is indicated by the senior APC stakeholders’ renewed collaboration.
The upcoming APC Youth Summit, according to Aremu, will be crucial in reorienting the party’s youth wing before 2027.
He clarified that the summit’s objectives would be to reorganize party divisions, rally support from the general public, and encourage young members to unite behind a common goal.
In order to recover Oyo State, he said, a comprehensive youth-driven plan that includes issue-based campaigns, political mobilization, internet advocacy, and community engagement initiatives will be presented.
Young APC leaders are ready to drive the change required to further Oyo’s growth, Aremu emphasized.
“Oyo’s future needs to be planned today,” he declared, reiterating the youth wing’s dedication to influencing the state’s upcoming political phase.
