Regarding the sealing of the Renewed Hope Agenda office located on Ojike Street in Umuahia, the state capital, Abia State Governor Alex Otti has provided clarification.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Ukoha, the governor clarified that the decision was not politically driven, despite opposition members’ misconceptions.

According to Otti, the sealing was done as part of the state’s Harmonized Task Force’s general enforcement of court orders.
However, he added that once Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, brought the issue to his attention, he had ordered that the property be opened.

He warns against attributing motivations to the harmonized taskforce’s actions and claims that the activity has no political overtones.

“Until the building’s documentation was regularized, the unsealing was quickly completed.

According to the statement, “this enforcement was part of a general exercise targeting properties in default of statutory obligations; rather, it was not politically motivated.”
