Enzo Maresca Shares Secrets of Chelsea’s Triumph Over Barcelona in Champions League

According to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, his team’s effective strategy helped them defeat Barcelona 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday in the Champions League.

Chelsea put up one of their most assured performances of the season after a disappointing draw with Qarabag. Jules Kounde’s own goal in the first half set the tone, and Ronald Araujo’s dismissal made Barcelona’s job much more difficult.

After the break, Chelsea reportedly increased their lead, with goals from Willian Estevao and Liam Delap securing an unforgettable triumph.

Limiting Barcelona’s time on the ball was a key component of the strategy, Maresca revealed after the game.

“When they have the ball, Barcelona is a team that feels comfortable,” Maresca remarked.

“We tried to keep the ball because if they don’t have it, they don’t feel comfortable.

“Even in 11v11, I felt great because the team was performing well.”

Estevao has continued to gain confidence since joining the team, and the Italian was similarly full of praise for him. In addition to his goal, the Brazilian once again impressed with his maturity in the background.

“Estevao appears to be a traditional man. He doesn’t spend a lot of time on social media or on his phone, Maresca told Sky Sports.

“He is a straightforward, typical child who works hard.” I adore that. His family is constantly present.

“He is a regular guy but a special player.”
