In terms of security, stability, and sovereignty, Nigeria and the Republic of China have decided to improve their bilateral ties.
This was the result of a strategic conference between Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Yu Dunhai, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, to review bilateral relations and bolster strategic collaboration between both nations.
The meeting’s main goals, according to a statement released on Thursday by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Ministry’s spokesperson, were to advance ongoing collaborations and share perspectives on regional and global developments.
It stated that the Chinese ambassador reaffirmed China’s support for Nigeria’s security, stability, and sovereignty while praising Nigeria’s leadership position in West Africa and agreeing with the Minister’s worries regarding the misrepresentation of regional conflicts.
The statement claims that both parties talked about broader areas of cooperation, such as industrialization, technology transfer, migration, capacity-building, and the extraction and processing of vital and rare earth minerals.
The parties also looked at potential investments, prospects in the manufacturing, energy, and economic transformation sectors, and China’s suggested “process solutions,” it continued.
According to the release, Tuggar and Dunhai reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering Nigeria-China relations for mutual benefit and agreed that continuous evaluations of bilateral agreements were essential to opening up new areas of cooperation.
