Following the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s national election in Benin City, Edo State, Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa was chosen as the guild’s National Vice President.
According to reports, on Monday, December 8, 2025, her media office issued a statement confirming the occurrence.
According to the statement, her new position is a reflection of the guild’s members’ faith in her years of experience and commitment to the organization’s expansion.
As she assumes the national role, Amusa stated that she intends to provide the AGN Secretariat with new ideas, stability, and order.
She went on to say that she thinks her background in acting and filmmaking will enable her to advocate for more chances for Nigerian actors and actresses nationwide.
The actress, who is well-known for creating films like the Yoruba feature Dewunmi Iberu and for her performances in other Nollywood productions, stated that she wants the Nigerian film industry to flourish and occupy its proper position in the country’s growth.
In addition, she is the Vice President of the Ijebu Pride Network, a project started by Bashorun Femi Branch to unite leading Ijebuland performers. The group honors Ogun State’s Ijebuland and Remoland cultures and traditions.
Rita Daniels, the mother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, was reportedly unsuccessful in her attempt to become the head of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
She was one of the well-liked candidates in the election, which took place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, to select Emeka Rollas’ successor.
Abubakar Yakubu, the current National Secretary, was her main rival and ultimately emerged victorious.
