NNPC Limited has given an update in response to the incident that was reported on Thursday, December 11, 2025, on a portion of the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) in South-West Warri, Delta State.
Andy Odeh, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd. Abuja, explained in a press release that coordinated containment procedures have been effectively carried out, guaranteeing the safety of host communities, staff, and the environment.
The company specifically stated that all pertinent pipeline portions have been securely and safely disconnected.
A joint preliminary inspection comprising NNPC Limited, technical teams from the Nigeria Midstream & Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), and maintenance contractors has been carried out at the impacted location, according to a portion of the statement.
The network’s operator, NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC), has triggered its Business Continuity Plan in order to handle the effects on all impacted parties, including suppliers and shippers.
