Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to sources, he submitted his resignation to the Ward Chairman of Ampang West Ward in the Mangu Local Government Area in a letter dated December 29, 2025.

The governor underlined the need for better service delivery, clear direction, and focused leadership.

Governor Mutfwang declared that his resignation would take effect right now.

The letter expressed gratitude to the party for giving him the chance to serve within the democratic system and was acknowledged by the ward leadership a day later.

Mutfwang acknowledged that current political conditions required his decision and thanked party leaders and supporters for their support over the years.

The governor stated, “I am compelled to seek an alternative platform given the realities of the moment and guided by my commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and service delivery.”

Mutfwang is reportedly scheduled to formally join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following his resignation.

Remember that Mutfwang recently joined the ruling party, according to Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the APC.
