A seven-person Congress Implementation Committee has been established by Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno for the state’s 2026 All Progressives Congress, or APC, congresses.

Frank Archibong, Mr. Nsentip Akpabio, Architect Ubokutom Nyah, Engineer Uwem Okoko, and Mrs. Owoidighe Ekpoattai are among the members, with Enobong Uwah serving as Chairman and Dr. Patrick Umoh serving as Secretary.

Speaking to the committee at the Government House Banquet Hall in Uyo soon after the inauguration, the governor asked them to collaborate with the party and conduct broader consultations in order to ensure a peaceful Congress.

Additionally, he urged party loyalists to stick to the party’s principles in order to further their own interests.

Speaking at the function, Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised Governor Eno for his capacity to unite all parties involved and for building the state he has always dreamed of.

“I saw this in you,” he declared. This is the Akwa Ibom that I have always dreamed of: a peaceful state that is unified for the sole goal of development, supporting whoever God has appointed as our leader at any given time. When we are united, no one from the outside can separate us.

“Because of our unity, the State stayed quiet over the whole Christmas season. You’ve done a great job, Governor Eno, and I want to praise you in front of the stakeholders for having faith in your grandfather.

Obong Stephen Ntukepo, the APC’s Akwa Ibom State Chairman, commended the governor for his vision, leadership, and goal of uniting the state in his speech. He described the governor as a gentleman whose love for the people is incomprehensible.

Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt Hon. Udeme Otong, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Senators Emmanuel Ibok Essien and Effiong Bob, Obong Nsima Ekere, and Obongawan Obonodo Uko, the State Women leader of the APC, all praised the governor for his leadership of the party and his cooperative relationship with the Senate President in their separate remarks.
