29 people are thought to have died as a result of the flood that struck the capital of Adamawa State around ten days ago.
On Tuesday, in Yola, Adamawa State Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta provided an update as First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu offered assistance to the impacted residents.
“The most recent assessment of the effects of the July 27, 2025 floods showed that by Monday, August 4, 29 people had died as a result of the flood,” said Kaletapwa, who spoke on behalf of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri during the symbolic distribution of cash and other relief supplies to the flood victims.
As one of the greatest floods to hit the capital city in recent memory, the flood in question ravaged neighborhoods in Yola South, one of the two local government districts that make up the twin Yola capital territory.
Farauta praised Remi Tinubu for stepping in and said the state administration had done a lot on its own to rescue the flood victims.
