Adunni Ade, a Nollywood actress, has celebrated winning a lawsuit against a Nigerian news outlet for slander.
Adunni Ade was one of the “six popular Nigerian celebrities” who were accused of dating Senator Dino Melaye, and the court triumph followed almost two years later.
Adunni Ade responded to the report by labeling it untrue and suing the news site for N100 million for defamation and invasion of privacy.
The actress praised the “Nigerian Court of law” for obtaining justice for her in an Instagram post on Tuesday night.
She declared, “Won my case Adunni Ade vs. Polace Media Limited (www.naijanews.com),” as she celebrated her victory. The truth stayed firm despite a fabricated tale about me being published. This ruling confirms that integrity and privacy are important. Justice postponed does not equate to justice denied.
“A few more cases remain after two were won. If you are rushing around dodging court documents, please stop so that you can be served.
When asked in her comment area, Adunni responded, “The judge awarded N20 million in damages, but the blogger didn’t accept it.” There is still a garnishment on the account.
