Amid legal battle, Falana contacts EFCC for VeryDarkMan’s release
According to reports, Femi Falana, a well-known Nigerian human rights attorney and activist, has been in touch with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, to request the release of VeryDarkMan, a social critic who has been arrested.
Deji Adeyanju, VeryDarkMan’s attorney, made the disclosure on Wednesday in a post on X (previously Twitter).
He wrote: “I have now confirmed that contrary to my previous post the other day that our revered leader and mentor, Femi Falana, SAN, has made several calls to EFCC challenging VDM’s unlawful arrest and detention.”
Recall that Adeyanju had criticized Falana on Monday for what he said was his apparent silence about VeryDarkMan’s ongoing detention, calling it illegal.

Despite an ongoing legal battle between his family and VeryDarkMan, Falana has stepped in.
Following the release of a leaked voice recording in which well-known crossdresser Bobrisky allegedly claimed that musician Falz contacted him while he was incarcerated and offered to help secure a presidential pardon for N10 million through his father, the Falana family filed a N1 billion defamation suit against VeryDarkMan.
