Annie, a Nollywood actress and estranged wife of Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, publicly declared their divorce at the 17th Headies Awards on Sunday night.
According to reports, the actress, who had kept silent about the situation for several months, broke her silence when co-presenting the award for Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year.
She shared the stage alongside Farooq Oreagba, dubbed the “King of Steeze” after his memorable performance at the 2024 Ojude Oba festival.
Annie paused upon presenting herself before swiftly correcting her name, demonstrating her new status.
“Annie Idi.” Oh! Sorry, Annie Macaulay. “Hi, single ladies!” She proclaimed, prompting tremendous cheers and acclaim from the audience.

This public confirmation follows suspicions earlier this year, when Annie emerged on social media in March, about two months after 2Baba announced their split, signing off with her full name, Annie Uwana Macaulay, conspicuously lacking the Idibia surname.
The former couple, who have two children, formally terminated their marriage in January 2025, after 2Baba announced their breakup.
Since their breakup, 2Baba has moved on and proposed to Natasha Osawaru, an Edo State politician. He has reportedly introduced her to his family and community in Benue State, fueling speculation of a possible wedding.
