The African Democratic Congress (ADC) declared that President Bola Tinubu would only serve one term in office, a claim that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected.
The ADC declaration on Tinubu’s presidency was deemed absurd idle chatter by the APC’s Lagos State unit.
Seye Oladejo, the party’s spokeswoman in Lagos State, made fun of the ADC in a statement released on Wednesday, calling it a party that has never won a national election and might not do so anytime soon.
According to him, the ADC may soon come to an end and is currently on political life support.
The latest fantasy from the faltering ADC, which is now posing as a legitimate voice in Nigerian democracy, is noted by the APC with great delight.
Their assertion that President Tinubu will only serve one term is merely empty rhetoric from a party that has never held central government authority and is unlikely to do so in this generation.
It is fairly easy for a party that has no history of winning national elections to start crafting fictitious narratives about the reign of a leader whose political acumen, service record, and ability to deliver are unquestionable.
“The difficult task of putting Nigeria back on track for sustainable growth and advancement has only just begun under President Tinubu. Lesser leaders have avoided implementing bold, people-centered policies for decades, but Nigerians are already witnessing them.
The Lagos APC went on to say that Nigerians are happy with the reforms that President Tinubu is enacting and that he has done an excellent job during his tenure in office.
The recent APC triumphs in the nationwide bye-elections, Oladejo continued, are evidence that Nigerians have come to accept Tinubu and the APC.
“You don’t learn to walk by first trying to run,” our people say. While the ADC continues to flounder aimlessly, the APC government under Tinubu is gradually establishing strong foundations for long-lasting change.
“A child who washes his hands clean will dine with elders,” according to another saying. Unlike the ADC, which thrives on the scraps left by frequent defections, President Tinubu has earned his seat at the leadership table via his political background and sacrifice for democracy.
“There is nothing at all to suggest that the ADC has a chance in the election. The results of the recent nationwide by-elections, in which the APC won a landslide victory, speak for themselves if “the morning shows the day.”
“Those wins were both a resounding vote of confidence by Nigerians and a referendum on the Tinubu administration. The ADC will obviously perform better in a circus than on the political platform.
“The hen’s cackle does not stop the sunrise,” as our folks sagely remind us. President Tinubu’s historic mandate and steady leadership cannot be undermined by the ADC’s mindless rhetoric.
“The alleged prediction of a one-term presidency is really wishful thinking on the part of a party that, if it ever had any, has outlived its best years.
The Lagos APC exhorts Nigerians to stick with President Tinubu’s administration despite the diversion of political lightweights.
