APC to Babachir Lawal: You’re Attacking Tinubu Because He Chose a Better Running Mate

Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has come under pressure from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for his recent criticism of President Bola Tinubu.

The former SGF is attacking Tinubu because Babachir wanted to be vice president and Tinubu chose a better, more qualified, and more sophisticated candidate, the APC claimed in a post on its X handle.

Babachir is the newest political content maker and soothsayer who is struggling to find political oxygen, according to the APC.

Babachir had previously given a number of controversial and unjustified interviews, but none have matched what the APC called the “incoherence and desperation” he demonstrated in his most recent television appearance on Monday.

Even while he was swinging wildly in all ways, flaunting ideological inconsistency like a badge of honor, that outing exposed a terribly disturbed soul that was slowly unraveling.

“It was clear that yesterday’s entire Channels performance was a badly planned ploy to entice President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Babachir once declared that anyone who obstructed Tinubu’s path to the presidency would face the “wrath of God.”

“He casually calls that man names, disrespects his office, and makes disparaging remarks about him today. Babachir was described as a “fair-weather friend, an opportunist, a clout chaser, and a clay-footed political crusader,” which sums up his personality and upbringing perfectly.

The APC told Babachir that it is still possible to change his mind, but cautioned him against disparaging President Tinubu’s office and character. They said that the televised monologues only serve to remind Nigerians of his past in office and his rapid decline into political and social obscurity.

Recall that Babachir had claimed that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, had won the 2023 elections.

The APC retorted, highlighting Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 elections and stating that he will continue to be Nigeria’s legitimate president until 2027.

In addition to being ridiculous, your assertion that Peter Obi “won” the 2023 elections is a flagrant lie. The ruling party responded to Babachir, “The people have spoken, the law has approved it, and the courts have made a decision.”
