In a well-planned ambush at Kurawa Village in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, soldiers from the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division killed eleven terrorists.

According to sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the operation, which was carried out as part of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, began at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Sunday after forces were provided with reliable human intelligence regarding the movement of a terrorist gang that was trying to cross into Tara Village in the same council area.

The sources claim that the 8 Division Garrison Strike Team carried out the ambush and successfully stopped the terrorists along their alleged crossing route.

Eleven terrorists were killed in the “swift, surgical, and professionally executed” operation, according to the source. During the fight, eight AK-47 firearms were found.

There is now an ongoing follow-up exploitation expedition to clear the surrounding area.

According to security insiders, the operation was one of the most recent victories of Operation FANSAN YAMM, a stepped-up offensive that targets terrorist and bandit networks throughout Sokoto, Zamfara, and other regions.

According to military officials, more information will be made public once the battlefield assessment is finished.

According to reports, the 8 Division has increased both intelligence-led and kinetic operations in recent months, weakening a number of criminal enclaves and enhancing community security in the North-West.
