Baba-Ahmed Urges Tinubu to Step Down for Nigeria’s Sake

President Bola Tinubu has been advised to reconsider staying in office by former presidential adviser Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who believes that leaving office could be the wisest course of action for the nation.

In an interview with Arise TV’s Daybreak on Monday, he claimed that the President’s two and a half years in office have not lived up to the promises made or the accomplishments frequently attributed to him.

He maintained that the government’s official statements do not accurately represent the problems Nigerians face on a daily basis.

“What he claims to be doing and what people claim to be living are very different,” he remarked.

Additionally, Baba-Ahmed criticized the President’s security strategy.

“President Buhari left a terrible security situation and Tinubu doesn’t appear to have improved it; rather, it appears that he has made it worse,” he said.

He proposed that Tinubu should be asked to resign due to his advanced age, his long-standing desire to become president, and the fact that he had “no further value to offer.”

He declared, “I think President Tinubu should quit if he loves Nigeria’s survival.”

Nigerians should look for someone else in 2027, he continued, “whether within or outside his party, who has better qualities.”
