Late Olubusola Adesheke Idowu Owo-Samson’s remains were laid to rest on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Ikoyi Cemetery in Lagos, following a burial service at the Cathedral Church of Christ in Marina.
Idowu Owo-Samson, who died on June 27, 2025 at the age of 68, began her journey home on Tuesday, July 29 with a service of songs at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) International in Lagos.
Reflecting on her mother’s recollections, Barr. Kanyisola Doherty, who became a lawyer at the age of 23, said words fail to capture the depth of her grief at her mother’s death.
She said, “It still feels like a dream to me.” I’m grateful for the years we spent sharing both the good and the terrible. I’ll miss you terribly knowing you won’t be here to see more significant milestones in my life, but I’m heartened by God’s grace, which overflows in all. You fought a decent fight on your own terms.
“I love you, but your maker loves you the most and has called you home to rest. No more agony. “There is no light without a dawning,” she stated.
After the commitment, visitors, families, and friends were entertained at the Eko Club’s Blessings Hall in Surulere, Lagos.

Mrs. Yetunde Payne-Ayandiji, a bossom friend of Barr. Kanyisola, spoke at the event and praised the ceremony’s success.
She stated, “We thank God for the successful ceremony.” It is difficult to lose a close family member, let alone one’s mother. The late Idowu Owo-Samson was a loving mother to all of us. We will all miss her for all the good she did while on this wretched earth.
“We thank God for her life, but I am confident that we will never forget her. “We’ll never forget her,” she stated.
Another friend of Barr. Kanyisola Doherty, Moyo Shomade, stated that the occasion will be remembered for a long time in the hearts of people close to her.
She stated, “Mummy was very caring, accommodating, loving, and friendly.” We praise God for her existence. We will undoubtedly miss those in our midst, but we can take comfort in the Bible’s teachings that ‘God gaveth and taketh’.
“It is our prayer that we shall meet to part no more in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen” , her final words.
