As suspected armed herders ambushed a commercial bus on the Makurdi–Naka route on Sunday and kidnapped every passenger, commuters were overcome with fear.
According to witnesses, the car was stopped before it could get to Naka after leaving Makurdi.
At gunpoint, the assailants allegedly led the passengers into surrounding bushes.
ASP Edet Udeme, the public relations officer for the Benue State Police, was contacted and stated that she had not yet received any reports of the occurrence. She promised to verify the issue and offer updates.
