Bomadi Legislative Arm Suspends Six Councilors Amid Leadership Crisis
The Legislative Arm of Bomadi Local Government Council of Delta State has suspended six of its members after a botched leadership impeachment crisis.
According to a statement signed by the Leader of the Legislative Arm of Bomadi Council, Hon Wurukeseye Doubra, and Cmr Julius Clerke, Clark of the Legislative Arm, in an emergency sitting on 5th January, 2026, held at its chambers, 14 members, including the Leader of the Legislative Arm, endorsed the suspension of Hon Tiriki ThankGod, Hon Harris Barbar, and Hon Ebi Nanakumor.
Other Councilors affected by the suspension include Hon Isaiah Selekekeme, Hon Pius Komuko, and Hon Bariki Desmond.
The Statement held that the suspension of the six members followed their involvement in a no-quorum sitting to impeach the leadership of the Bomadi Council Legislative Arm.
The Statement by Wurukeseye and Clerke further noted that the mace, the symbol of authority that was used during the botched session, was a fake one, and as such did not carry any authority.
