Breaking: Bandits Strike in FCT, Kidnap Boy and Six Girls
Six girls and a 16-year-old boy were kidnapped from Gidan-Bijimi in the Federal Capital Territory’s Kawu ward, Bwari Area Council.
Reports state that Gidan-Bijimi and Marke hamlet are adjacent to the Kaduna State border.
On Thursday morning, Suleiman Shuaibu, a Kawu resident, verified the occurrence.
Around 9:47 p.m., he claimed, the armed robbers with AK-47 rifles broke into two homes in the neighborhood, firing intermittently and kidnapping six young girls and a sixteen-year-old male.
He said the community was in disarray after the attack.
He continued by saying that despite some vigilantes’ best efforts, the robbers’ superior weaponry overpowered them.
Additionally, Shuaibu disclosed that the kidnapped girls are between the ages of 17 and 23.
“The Gidan-Bijimi community called at around 9:53 p.m. to report that six young girls had been kidnapped by bandits who had invaded the village; sadly, my cousin sister was one of the victims,” he stated.
He claimed that some locals were compelled to leave their homes following the incident, despite the fact that he has not yet made touch with the kidnappers.
