Breaking: Family Announces Passing of Renowned Evangelist Uma Ukpai at 80
Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, the founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association and a well-known worldwide evangelist, passed away, according to his family.
According to a family-signed statement titled “Glorious Transition,” Ukpai “passed on to glory” on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.
The acclaimed cleric dedicated almost 60 years of his life to fervent evangelism, dramatic teaching of the Word, and prophetic displays of God’s might, according to his family, who described him as “a faithful soldier of the cross.”
The statement claims that Ukpai’s ministry changed the course of millions of lives and destiny in Nigeria and worldwide.

We commemorate the victorious homecoming of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who departed to glory on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80, with hearts full of thankfulness. A devoted cross-bearer has been summoned to rest.
He changed millions of lives and destinies in Nigeria and around the world by committing more than 60 years of his life to ferocious evangelism, powerful Word teaching, and prophetic displays of God’s power.
His life was a monument to God’s might and love. He was a spiritual general who was well-known for his evangelism, a founding father of religion, a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a mentor to many.
We rejoice that he has completed his course and is now resting in eternal honor, even as we lament his bodily absence. The family will make an announcement on the obsequies in due time.
