In a letter to the Senate, President Bola Tinubu asked for confirmation that Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro of Plateau State should be appointed as a minister.
After Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda was appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July 2025, Dr. Doro was nominated.
Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, acknowledged the news in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the Senate must confirm the nomination.
According to reports, Yilwatda was the Tinubu cabinet’s minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management, and social development from October 2024 to July 2025 before becoming the APC National Chairman.
Onanuga claims that Dr. Doro’s nomination comes after Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda was elected chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Prior to this, Yilwatda was the Minister of Poverty Reduction and Humanitarian Affairs.
Dr. Doro was born in Kwall, Bassa LGA, Plateau State, on January 23, 1969. He has more than 20 years of mixed experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical administration, strategic leadership, and community involvement in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
He holds a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice, an MBA with a concentration on IT-driven business strategy, and degrees in pharmacy and law.
“He is an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with NHS frontline experience across urgent care, walk-in centres, GP practices, and hospital settings.
“He has also spearheaded social impact projects and youth mentoring in local communities and the diaspora.”
