Due to accusations of money laundering and investment fraud, businesswoman Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu has been formally designated sought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to reports, on Friday, the anti-graft office proclaimed Ms. Achimugu wanted. She was described as an associate of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
In a statement, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, asked anyone with pertinent information regarding her whereabouts to get in touch with the Commission.
“The public is hereby notified that Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the EFCC in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering,” the statement said.
Reports about Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have previously mentioned Ms. Achimugu.
As you may remember, the governor left his official responsibilities in Lagos on January 24 to travel to Grenada, a Caribbean island, to celebrate Ms. Achimugu’s 50th birthday.
Premium Times reports that Sanwo-Olu stayed at one of the most exclusive resorts in the world while traveling on a private plane. Many government officials did not know where he was during his absence; some said he was abroad, while others suggested he was in London on an official trip.
