According to Nigerian rapper Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, better known by his stage name CDQ, he finds fulfillment in music regardless of the financial gain.
In a recent interview with the Echo Room, the “Nowo Soke” crooner reportedly stated that he became a banker in order to fulfill his late father’s request.
CDQ claimed that after he discovered that he was creating lyrics during work hours rather than doing his duties, he made the decision to leave his banking position and concentrate on his music.
The rapper claims that when he fled his home to live with music producer Masterkraft, he was unable to tell any of his family members.

According to CDQ, he assured Masterkraft that a breakthrough will happen in six months and advised them to concentrate on music.
Six months after they landed a deal and moved from the ghetto to Lekki, he said, they made their breakthrough.
“I quit my job at the bank,” he said. At the time, I was unable to inform my mother or any other family member. I went to the studio to remain with Masterkraft after leaving the house. I told him that I’m not passionate about banking. Most likely, I’ll just do it to get by. However, I enjoy making music regardless of whether I get paid for it or not.
With the release of his smash song “Indomie,” which featured Masterkraft and Olamide, CDQ became well-known in 2016. His career surged after the remix, which featured Davido.
