Two people, Saheed Jamiu (also known as Osama) and Uyime Godwin Udoekwere, have been placed on remand in prison by a Federal High Court in Lagos for allegedly committing murder against Omowunmi Aloba, the late singer Mohbad’s widow.
The two were reportedly charged with conspiracy, cyberstalking, and defamation when the police brought them before Justice Ibrahim Kala on Monday.
They allegedly committed the deed in early July 2025 by displaying a sign in Ikeja, Lagos, that claimed Wunmi was to blame for Mohbad’s demise.

The cops went on to say that their social media profiles all carried the same statement.
Sections of the 2015 Cybercrimes Act were broken, according to the prosecution. The two guys entered not guilty pleas.
The judge rejected their lawyer’s request for them to be released on bail, stating that they would not interfere with the case, and instead requested that a formal bail request be submitted.
After that, he ordered that they be detained at the Ikoyi Correctional Center until their bail request was heard by the court.
The trial is scheduled to start on September 25, which is when the case has been postponed.
Omowunmi, Mohbad’s wife, has been the victim of online abuse since his untimely death in September 2023, when some have accused her of being involved in his demise.
She refuted the allegations in an interview conducted in October of last year, stating that her husband was subjected to threats and pressure prior to his passing.
