Did Goodluck Jonathan Arrest You? – Fayose Slams Tinubu Over Sowore’s Arrest

President Bola Tinubu has been under fire from Isaac, the brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, for the detention of Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist.

Shortly after demonstrating his support for the imprisoned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu, Sowore was reportedly arrested on Thursday at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

In a Thursday interview with News Central, Fayose bemoaned the imprisonment of Sowre and charged Tinubu with trying to stifle dissenting opinions.

He claimed that despite Sowore’s advocacy for police officer welfare, including their pension and gratuity, he was being arrested by the same security personnel.

Fayose went on to say that Tinubu was free to demonstrate under former President Goodluck Jonathan, and he asked why the president was hurting Nigerians during protests.

“No, as you can see, the police and law enforcement officers that we currently have are cash and carry,” he stated. Since they are in pain, I don’t care if they carry me tomorrow. You are still working for your slave owners even while someone is fighting for your rights, your pension, and your improvement as a person.

Protests are nonviolent overseas. Why are there so many gunshots, barricades, and acts of intimidation here? Millions of Nigerians agree with Sowore. Did former President Goodluck Jonathan arrest Tinubu when he was not in office? Jonathan gave him the freedom to protest. Why is Tinubu suddenly harming us, then?

Omoyele Sowore has taken the necessary action. He came to demand our rights. It is a sin against God and humanity for any Nigerian to not stand up for their rights.

In addition, Fayose called Sowore a hero and a true patriot, emphasizing that Nigerians should support people who fight for justice.

“Omoyele Sowore is our hero,” he continued. There isn’t another one.
