Governor Peter Mbah’s proposed ₦1.62 trillion budget for the 2026 fiscal year has been praised by the Enugu State Caucus in the House of Representatives, which characterized it as bold, strategic, and based on a clear vision for accelerated economic development.

The lawmakers expressed pleasure with the steady increase in Enugu State’s yearly budgets since Governor Mbah took office in a statement signed by the Caucus Leader, Rt. Hon. Nnolim Nnaji.

The tendency, they claimed, is indicative of a planned and organized road map for economic change.

The budget progressed steadily, from N521.5 billion in 2024 to N971.084 in 2025 to N1.62 trillion in 2026, as the Caucus noted.

The legislators claim that this growing trend shows that Governor Mbah’s proposal to increase the state’s GDP from $4.4 billion to $30 billion a year is already producing noticeable outcomes.

They praised the budget’s strong emphasis on social welfare, education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and economic growth—areas they said are essential to sustainable development and improved citizen quality of life.

The lawmakers also praised Governor Mbah for implementing cutting-edge drone surveillance technologies to bolster state security.

They pointed out that the invention has significantly improved general public safety and decreased kidnapping cases.

The lawmakers reaffirmed their support for the governor and promised to work with his administration going forward to achieve policies that boost security, advance economic growth, and improve the welfare of the people of Enugu State.
