After a deft team move, Viktor Gyökeres opened the score in the 14th minute. Declan Rice’s accurate strike in the 35th minute extended the lead and completed another productive effort for Mikel Arteta’s club. The Gunners are still two points ahead at the top of the Premier League after winning four straight games.
At home, Brighton was just as dominant, defeating Leeds United 3-0 in front of their supporters at the Amex Stadium.
Roberto De Zerbi’s team won easily thanks to goals from Danny Welbeck in the 11th and Dani Gómez in the 64th and 70th minutes of the second half.
At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace defeated Brentford 2-0 to maintain their upward trajectory. Shortly after the break, Jean-Philippe Mateta gave the Eagles the lead, and early in the second half, Brentford defender Nathan Collins diverted the ball into his own net, demonstrating the effectiveness of the pressure.
The outcome increased Thomas Frank’s team’s displeasure and moved Palace into the top half of the standings.
Fulham easily defeated a weak Wolves team 3-0 at Craven Cottage, putting on one of the best displays of the weekend. Within ten minutes, Ryan Sessegnon broke the impasse, and halfway through the second half, Harry Wilson doubled the lead.
Shortly after Emmanuel Agbadou was sent off in the 75th minute, Yerson Mosquera scored an own goal, leaving the visitors with no way back, adding to Wolves’ agony.
Manchester United had to settle for a 2-2 draw against a determined Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
In the 34th minute, Casemiro gave United the lead, but two minutes later, goals from Nicolo Savona and Morgan Gibbs-White turned the game around.
In the 81st minute, Amad Diallo scored an equalizer after coming off the bench to save a point for Erik ten Hag’s team.
With 25 points from ten games, Arsenal is still leading after this round of games. Bournemouth, Tottenham, and Sunderland round out the top four. Manchester United remains in fifth place.
At the other end of the table, Wolves remain rooted to the bottom, still searching for their first win of the campaign.
