According to ESPN, FIFA has confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup official draw will be held in Las Vegas on December 5.
After excluding potential locations in co-host countries Canada and Mexico, the governing board decided to draw the 2026 World Cup in the American metropolis.
For the first time in the game’s history, 48 teams will compete in the event, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Previously, the championship had a 32-team structure.
“December 5, if I’m not mistaken, is precisely the day the draw takes place, or at the beginning of December,” Pachuca executive Pedro Cedillo said in confirmation of the draw date.
“I am aware that it will take place in Las Vegas, and we must be there to give information about the state of Hidalgo, the city of Pachuca, and our two venues.”

It is anticipated that the Las Vegas Convention Centre, which hosted the draw the previous time the tournament was held in the United States in 1994, will host it again.
According to reports, with four games remaining, the Super Eagles are still mathematically eligible to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
South Africa currently has 13 points after six games, which puts them ahead of Nigeria in Group C. With seven points, the Super Falcons are in fourth place after only one victory, four draws, and one loss. Lesotho, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, and Benin are all included in the group.
Keep in mind that the victor of the group will get a direct trip to the World Cup. The second-place club could still advance via the CAF playoffs and, if they win, go to the inter-confederation playoffs.
